ITINERARY BY DAY
This heritage tour is perfect for travellers wanting to get a glimpse of old Hong Kong, away from the modern skyscrapers and bustling streets. Focused on Hong Kong’s New Territories, a strip of mountainous land between urban Kowloon and Mainland China, this full-day adventure allows visitors to travel back in time and delve into the opulent lives of Hong Kong’s ruling clans.
Departing in the morning, start the day with a visit to the San Tin area to see the opulent Tai Fu Tai Mansion, once home to Hong Kong’s Chinese elite. Stroll around its extravagant interiors and admire this stunning example of classic Chinese architecture before snapping some photos in the serene courtyards. Continue on to Fan Tin Village, a historic town built by Hong Kong’s powerful Man clan.
Then, make your way to the Lo Wai Walled Village, the first walled village erected to protect the town from pirates. Hear the fascinating stories before heading to Hong Kong Island’s oldest and most important temple, the Man Mo Temple, built in the 1840s.
Finish the day with some retail therapy as we head to Tai Po New Market – one of the busiest and most captivating markets in the New Territories.
