ITINERARY BY DAY
Day 1: Kota Kinabalu – Kinabalu Park
In the morning, make an early start for Mount Kinabalu, journeying across the Crocker Range, enjoying amazing panoramic views of the countryside. En-route, catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mount Kinabalu, one of the tallest peaks in Southeast Asia at 4095m above sea level.
Continue on for a rejuvenating dip in the Poring Hot Springs before scaling the high canopies of the Borneo rainforest on a suspended walkway. Get up close with local fauna and fauna 41m above the forest floor on this ultimate trek through the jungle before spending the night at the park’s headquarters, 1500m above sea level.
• Hill Lodge (twin bed) room at the Kinabalu Park, or similar.
Day 2: Kinabalu Park – Laban Rata
After breakfast, make your way to the park registration office to meet with your mountain guide before continuing on to Timpohon Gate – the starting point for your trek to the Kinabalu summit. After hiking your way up the exquisite Malaysian mountainside, spend the night at Laban Rata Resthouse, 3,300m above sea level.
• Dormitory room (bunk bed) at the Laban Rata Resthouse.
Day 3: Laban Rata – Kota Kinabalu
Conquer the summit of Mount Kinabalu at dawn and savour unforgettable views of the Borneo peninsular. Snap some photos before returning to Laban Rata Resthouse for a hearty breakfast. Afterwards, begin your descent to Timpohan Gate before transferring back to park headquarters for lunch. Continue your journey back to Kota Kinabalu town before heading to the airport for your return flight home.
