ITINERARY BY DAY
In the morning, embark on a full day tour of Pulau Ketam, otherwise known as “Crab Island”. A small island located off the coast of Port Klang, it was founded around 1880 and is now easily accessible by ferry. Enjoy the scenic ferry ride from Port Klang, offering beautiful panoramas of the busy harbour and nearby islands.
Pulau Ketam is renowned for its rich fishing traditions and unique houses built on stilts. Spot different kinds of fiddler crabs, mud crabs and mudskippers scuttling on the shores of the island’s mangroves before taking a stroll through this once desolate fishing village. Frozen in time, little has changed in this rustic village, where local villages continue to go about their daily routines amidst the crowds of tourists that flock there every year.
Settle down for a delicious fresh seafood lunch before catching the ferry back to Port Klang. After disembarking, make your way to the majestic Palace of the Sultan of Selangor. Wander through the Sultan Salahuddin Mosque, Malaysia’s largest mosque and the second largest in Southeast Asia. Take in its vast blue and silver dome and its towering minarets on each corner. Finish the day at Thean Hou Temple, one of the largest Chinese temples in Southeast Asia and housing some of the most elaborate murals in the capital.
