Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau
Upon arrival in Mai Chau valley you will check into the lodge and have a brief orientation to the facilities and activity options (such as nature walks, cycling, and visiting hill tribe villages). Dinner will be served accompanied by a traditional dance performance by the local Thai people. (L,D)
Day 2: Mai Chau - Hang Kia Village (trek 10km)
Following breakfast in Mai Chau town, you will be driven to the Hmong village of Sa Linh from here commence a 3 hour trek to the village of Hang Kia. Overnight in a village homestay at Hang Kia. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Hang Kia - Van Village (trek 25km)
Today, get well and truly off the beaten track as you trek through tropical rainforest, using the local tracks and passing through cornfields as we descend in to Mai Chau Valley. Arrive at Van village by late afternoon. Van is home to the Thai people and here we spend the night in a traditional house. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Van village – Mai Chau Lodge (trek 27km)
After breakfast, continue to walk for 10km to Xo village for lunch. Bidding farewell to our new friends after lunch, it is a five-hour trek from Xo to Mai Chau Lodge where you will relax in comfort. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Mai Chau Lodge - Nanh Village (trek 10km)
From the lodge we drive to the Da River and take a short boat ride to visit this beautiful village of Dzao ethnic minority. Enjoy a picnic lunch and return to the lodge in the early afternoon. There is the option to relax in the lodge grounds. Overnight in Mai Chau lodge. (B,L,D)
Day 6: Mai Chau - Hanoi
Breakfast provided in Mai Chau and then depart to Hanoi mid-morning. (B)
