The main objective of the center is to give an opportunity for disabled children to have special education, so they can develop self help skills and integrate into the community. 120 children attend the centre Monday - Friday from 0800 - 1600.
The centre’s functions are:
- help with the early detection and intervention for mentally handicapped children including those with Down Syndrome, Autism, Cerebral Palsy and ADHD.
- Help with pre-education. After 1-2 years with early intervention and pre school where the children will develop self help, language and communication skills, it is hoped that some of the children will be sent to main stream kindergarten and primary school
- Offer vocational training courses to children over 13 years of age
- Offer training sessions to parents in order to increase their knowledge and train them on how to care for, educate and rehabilitate disabled children
- Offer training to Vietnamese students study this area who seek work experience as well as welcome overseas specialists and volunteers
