Our top tips on getting the best out of Halong Bay

  • Climb up the top of the island with the tiny beach to a small shrine. The views are to die for and well work the walk.
  • Go kayaking, there is no better way to explore the lagoons and caves.
  • Be adventurous and jump off the top deck of your junk (no, we didn’t really say that)
  • Keep an eye on your valuables at the port, pick pockets work in the area.
  • Don’t forget your passport as otherwise you cannot stay overnight on a junk
