Our top tips on getting the best out of Hoi An/Danang
- Experience the Chinese lantern festival in Hoi An on the 14th day of every lunar month (night before the full moon)
- Rent bicycles in Hoi An and cycle to the beach, stopping off along the way for coffee along the river in a local restaurant.
- Eat Cao Lau, which is a noodle dish only made in Hoi An due to the water used that comes from a local well. Its surprisingly delicious. Try it and if you don’t like it, it will not break the bank.
- Try the food at Mango Rooms (Hoi An). It’s a fusion of asian and Mexican. Sounds strange, try it and try leaving!
- Turn up to tailors on your first day so there is time for fittings equipped with latest copy of vogue and your favourite clothes to get copied and a credit card. Its not that it is expensive but its very easy to get carried away! In fact we recommend Ya Ly tailor, for its quality, friendliness and good value.
