Enjoy an unforgettable experience in the ‘Land of Smiles’ with your family. Working with a charity that focuses on sustainable tourism development and environmental awareness, you will spend two days learning more about Thai life by living among the locals. Follow this with an exciting elephant experience in Khao Sok National Park where you will spend a few days exploring the forests and lakes. Finish your holiday in Krabi, home to some of Thailand’s best beaches and resorts.

Day 1: Phuket

You will be greeted at the airport and then driven north for about 3 hours to Kuraburi. The rest of the day is free for you to explore.

Day 2: Kurabu Ri – Community Village Experience

In the morning, your guide will take you to Ban Talae Nok, a local village that will be your home for the next two days. Visit the beach and the site of the pre-tsunami village. Return to Ban Talae Nok to meet your host family, then, enjoy a walking tour of the village before eating lunch. In the afternoon, learn the art of Nipa Palm weaving followed by some time on the beach. In the evening, return to your host family for a delicious Thai dinner.

Day 3: Community Village Experience - Kuraburi

Enjoy breakfast with your host family. Spend the morning learning how to make soap with the local Soap Cooperative, using natural ingredients from the local area. Return to your homestay to help prepare lunch and learn how traditional Thai dishes are made. It is then time to say goodbye to your host family (if you prefer to spend a few nights longer, we can arrange it) and return to the local office. The evening will be spent in Kuraburi Town.

Day 4: Kuraburi – Khao Sok

Drive inland to Elephant Hills Camp in Khao Sok for a three day adventure. In the morning you will have a once-in-a-life time chance to meet Asian Elephants. See, touch and learn about the life of Thai elephants as well as helping prepare their daily meal. After lunch, take a jungle river canoe trip down the Sok River. Drift along the jungle river to a world that has changed little in thousands of years. Return to the comfort of your tented camp for an evening in the forest.

Day 5: Khao Sok

In the morning take a boat to explore an extraordinary lake which is home to over one hundred islands, and is over 60 kilometres from north to south. Have lunch on the boat and take a swim in the cool waters if you please. In the late afternoon return to Elephant Hills for dinner.

Day 6: Khao Sok - Krabi

Today, you have an opportunity to explore the ecology of the rainforest. Colourful birds such as the hornbill forage high in the canopy, gibbons can often be heard calling to their mates and you might see a macaque or a leaf monkey swinging through the branches. Weather permitting; lunch will be served in the rainforest cooked in  amboo, a tradition of jungle explorers for centuries past. In the afternoon, you will return to Elephant Hills, then continue on to Krabi.

Day 7: Krabi

Enjoy a day of doing nothing on one of the world’s most scenic beaches or exploring the shops of Krabi Town.

Day 8: Krabi

Take a speedboat to Phra Nang Cave Beach on a secluded peninsula, inaccessible by car, where you sunbathe, swim, take photos and explore the beautiful scenery. You will visit some islands and have a chance to snorkel in the calm, crystal clear waters. After lunch, return to your hotel for an evening free at leisure.

Day 9 – 11: Krabi

Spend the next three days in beautiful Krabi, one of the finest beach destinations for families in Thailand. Spend your days sunning yourself, snorkeling in the sea and making the most out of this glorious part of Thailand.

Day 12: Depart Krabi

The day is at leisure until you are transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
