No longer are Cambodia and Laos just for the intrepid traveler – the sophisticated range of hotels and tourist infrastructure means these countries can suit all styles of travel. This itinerary is easily accessible via daily flights from Bangkok and is a magical way to discover the essence of South East Asia.

Day 1: Phnom Penh
Arrive into the bustling and energetic capital city, Phnom Penh, and check into the hotel, before setting out on a city tour to visit the National Museum and Royal Palace built in 1866 by King Norodom.

Day 2: Phnom Penh - Siem Reap
Fly to Siem Reap, gateway to the Angkor temple complex. Explore the mysterious royal city, Angkor Thom, and visit the intricately carved and awe inspiring Khmer ruins at Angkor Wat - one of the world’s most impressive ruins. End the day from one of the many vantage points around Siem Reap.

Day 3: Angkor Complex
Continue exploring the incredible temples, including some that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and still remain overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene.

Day 4: Siem Reap - Vientiane
Fly to laidback Vientiane, the city of the moon. Afternoon is spent visiting the major historic sites and enjoying what must be one of the most laid back capital cities in the world.

Day 5: Vientiane - Luang Prabang
Fly to the charming and stunning World Heritage listed Luang Prabang. Take a sightseeing tour of this sacred city of golden temples, mountains and saffron robed monks.

Day 6: Pak Ou Caves
Cruise on a long boat on the Mekong River to visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, located in the side of a limestone cliff and filled with hundreds of statues of Buddha. Dine on local fish and sticky rice at a riverside restaurant before returning to Luang Prabang.

Day 7: Kuang Sii Waterfall
Take an excursion to visit Kuang Sii Waterfall. En route, stop to visit small villages that are home to the H’mong and  Khmu ethnic minority groups. Picnic lunch at the waterfall.

Day 8: Depart Luang Prabang
After breakfast, visit a local market to purchase some souvenirs before transferring to the airport for your departure flight.
