  1. Hi Thao,

I’m looking for a recommendation for Christmas Day in Saigon for my mother, sister and myself. I would ideally like something lively with lunch that maybe turns into a party or drinks. Ex pats is fine or a local suggestion?

I have already approached Intercontinental, Park Hyatt and one other (who I now can’t remember).

    Thankyou,

    Simon.

    • Hi there, Simon! Most Christmas events in the city will be in the evening, but there are a few lunchtime events to find if you look closely enough. One we’d recommend is in the heart of Saigon’s downtown district on Nguyen Hue Street, at Duxton Hotel Saigon. They have both a lunch buffet and a dinner buffet, but there’s no mention (yet!) of a post-lunch party. That said, just down the street from Duxton are some of the city’s best bars and watering holes which normally stay open on Christmas Day! It could just be a matter of taking a quick stroll down the road to find a more lively event after a tasty lunch. Another option is Renaissance Riverside Hotel, who promise live music and a poolside buffet (although details are shady on the exact time of the event). We found an extensive list of Saigon-based events here: http://english.thesaigontimes.vn/14419/Where-to-celebrate-Christmas-and-New-Year?.html
