Break away from routine and spend your holiday in beautiful Southern Vietnam. Rich with stunning scenery, fascinating culture, charming people and spectacular beaches, this holiday is a one in the lifetime and there is no time like the present.  You’ll cycle through the lush Mekong delta, spend the night with a local family, visit handicraft villages and even enjoy a private cooking class in the rice fields. Then take a train to Phan Thiet and spend the last few days in a lovely family friendly beach resort.

Day 1: Arrival Ho Chi Minh City
Arriving in Ho Chi Minh City, our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City
Today you and your family will take in the main sites of the city, visiting colourful markets, beautiful temples, Chinatown  and enjoying a cyclo (pedalised rickshaw) ride through the streets. Lunch will be at a local restaurant, a great chance to try some delicious Vietnamese food. In the evening you will see the traditional Water Puppet theatre, a fantastic show for the family, followed by dinner.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Le Jarai Cruise - Vinh Long
Enjoy a relaxing day’s Mekong cruise on the converted rice barge Le Jarai and local boat. Sail through the broad waterways and small creeks of the Mekong River, enjoy a sumptuous three course lunch and see traditional rural life including a local village, communal temple and traditional matt weaving at a local farmer’s house. This trip is the ideal way to spend the day in the delta. Then arrive at the lush orchards of Vinh Long where you spend the night in a local house to understand more about traditional Vietnamese culture.

Day 4: Vinh Long – Can Tho
After having breakfast, bid farewell to your hosts and then cruise to a Bonsai Garden and the handicraft village to see how pop rice, coconut candy, rice paper, bricks and pottery items are made. You will arrive in Vinh Long Town for lunch. After lunch drive to Can Tho, the city at the heart of the Mekong Delta. Here you will spend the night at your hotel.

Day 5: Can Tho
Spend the day cycling througha  series of small countryside paths, luscious green fields and tropical fruit orchards. You will also cross rivers with small boats or ferries and explore mesmerising local villages. This is a unique opportunity to witness the daily lives of Southern Vietnamese; a truly authentic experience deep in the heart of Mekong Delta.  Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Can Tho
Take this wonderful opportunity to learn the art of Vietnamese cuisine either at the hotel or at a more exotic location such as a rice field, the Binh Thuy ancient house or on our converted traditional rice barge, the Lady Hau.
