Day 1: Sanur – Ende

Depart Bali on a flight to the quiet yet exquisite island of Flores. Flores island Indonesia, is a relatively untouched gem, of natural wonders with komodo dragons, colourful lakes, and beautiful beaches. Arrive in Ende and meet our local representative who will bring your to your hotel. After check in, relax with the rest of the day at leisure in your charming accommodation. Be sure to go to bed early, as you’ll be up before the sun tomorrow to begin the ultimate Flores tour.

Day 2: Ende – Kelimutu – Ende

Rise before the dawn for breakfast before transferring to the top of the boiling Mount Kelimutu, Watch the sunrise over the mountains, as the warm light reflects across the mount, take in the natural splendour. Marvel at the massive craters which are filled with water, ever changing colours depending on the volcano. Get ready for a trek along the summit, visiting the three-coloured lakes, and taking in the majestic views. You may notice on the trek that the monkeys have awoken, feel free to interact with them but be careful as they are quite sneaky and grabby. 

Return to your hotel, and spend the rest of the day resting if you’d like. If you’re feeling energetic consider an optional afternoon tour in Ngadha district. Discover rows of traditional homes covered in grass, learning about the sacrificial rituals of its people at a Moni graveyard.

Day 3: Ende – Riung

Depart Ende this morning and kick back on a scenic drive along the coast and through the Flores island as you cross mountainous terrain towards Riung. Enjoy a few stops along the way, savouring views of rice paddies in the valleys, rolling hills and jungle enveloped routes. Stop at the coastline to marvel at the sea, before arriving at your accommodation in the sleepy seaside town of Riung, where you’ll take it easy for the rest of the day.

Day 4: Riung – 17 Islands Marine Park

Take in the majestic nature on a day long excursion through 17 Islands Marine Park. This preserved National Park is a natural wonder of Flores Island Indonesia, with charming islands and inlets, incredibly pristine beaches and charming coral reefs. The clear waters of the park’s islands are perfect for snorkelling, swimming and basking in the sun.

After swimming with the fish and making the most of the park, watch sunset from Ontoloe island, bathing in the golden rays for that perfect picture to capture a perfect day. Return to your hotel for the rest of the evening at leisure to stroll about sleepy Riung.

Day 5: Riung – Ruteng

Wake up early for your transfer to Ruteng, which will take up most of the day. Despite the lengthy journey, marvel at the majestic landscape as you cruise through this scenic island. Stop along the drive for some panoramic views, before a visit in Aimere, a small village known for its local palm liquor, Arak. A popular part of Flores island’s culture, see how it’s processed before tasting it yourself!

Finally after a few more hours, descend from the mountains into the network of valleys, arriving at their centre in Ruteng. One of the larger towns of Flores, Ruteng is enveloped in stunning scenery. Arrive, and check into your accommodation at a nunnery and get some heavenly rest.

Day 6: Retung – Labuan Bajo

This morning, enjoy breakfast with the music of morning mass drifting from the courtyard. Afterwards, you’ll depart the valley for the coast, heading towards Labuan Bajo. En route, stop at Batu Cermin, or Mirror Rock, a cave in the hillside with a fascinating history. Then, see some local markets to watch the bustle and fresh ingredients as people barter their wares, before arriving at your hotel. Have the rest of the day at leisure in Lubuan Bajo, enjoying the modern conveniences, restaurants and cafes of this port town.

Day 7: Komodo National Park

Wake up before the sunrise for an exciting adventure amongst the dragons. Depart at 6am sharp for Komodo Island, where a local ranger will take you on a walk through the National Park in search of the mighty komodo dragon.  Head off to Pink Beach next, tucking into lunch along the boat ride. Dive into the crystal-clear waters, snorkelling around hundreds of fish and over some fantastic coral reefs. Pink beach got its namesake from the fragments of red coral that make up its just, giving the beach a rosy hue.

Afterwards, leave the beach to head to Rinca Island, where you’ll head back out on a short and relatively easy trek through the hilly savannah. See if you can spot, with the help of your ranger, the Komodo Dragon in its natural habitat. Finally, sit back and relax on the cruise back to Labuan Bajo, returning to your hotel to enjoy your last night on Flores island Indonesia at your leisure.

Day 8: Depart Labuan Bajo (Flores)

Bid farewell to the majestic natural splendour and local charm of Flores this morning as you transfer to the airport to catch your flight onwards to your next destination.
