In the evening, make your way to the Petronas Twin Towers, the world’s tallest set of twin towers inspired by the vision of former Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad. Head up to the exclusive Marini’s on 57, where you will have one of the best views of the city from Kuala Lumpur’s highest rooftop bar. Enjoy a signature cocktail or a glass of premium wine or whiskey before heading into their award-winning Italian restaurant.

- Deluxe city-view room at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.
- Includes set dinner, with a smart casual dress code.

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur
In the morning make your way to the state of Pahang, an hour and 45 minutes east of Kuala Lumpur. After stopping at an Aborigine settlement, where you will gain a unique insight into Malaysia’s indigenous culture, head to the Kuala Gandah Elephant Orphanage Sanctuary.

It’s estimated that there are only 1,200 wild Asian elephants left in Malaysia, so this is a rare and wonderful opportunity to get up close to native Malaysian elephants and learn more about these displaced gentle giants. These elephants have been rescued from all over the Malaysian peninsula and relocated to this safe and wild sanctuary, which is the country’s only conservation centre.

Settle down for an elephant show and elephant feeding before taking the elephants down to the river and helping to bathe them – there is even the chance to bathe with the baby elephants in the river. Spend the night in Kuala Lumpur at your leisure.

- Wear comfortable shoes and a hat.
- Bring a towel and spare clothing to change into in case you get wet.
- Bathing activity may be cancelled if the water level is considered dangerous.
- Packed lunch.
- Deluxe city-view room at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

Important remark: Please be informed that in line with the sanctuary’s enhanced approach in conservation practices, the elephant riding activity has been discontinued in the centre. The new regulation is enforced to avoid causing distress to the elephants and enable them to live in their natural environment as much as possible.
