Tour the city that lies at the confluence of two great rivers, The Mekong and the Tonle Sap. Start your whirlwind day with stops at the Royal Palace and the National Museum. Then walk to the top of Wat Phnom and have your fortune told. Next, visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, which documents atrocities committed by the Khmer Rouge in the 1970s – a chilling window into Cambodia’s violent past. Then, on a lighter note, shop for anything under the sun at Phnom Penh’s airy Central Market.

DAY 3 - Phnom Penh - Kratie

Travel 340km to the sleepy riverside town of Kratie, with its faded French architecture to see the rare and elusive pink Irrawaddy dolphins. Walk to the top of Phnom Sambok, with its small temple and take in a peaceful Mekong sunset.

DAY 4 - Kratie – Koh Trong Island

Just across the water from Kratie is Koh Trong. Hop on a boat and make the short journey across for bit of cycling, and a peek into village life. If you’re lucky you might get the chance to see one of the rare Mekong mud turtles who inhabit the western shore.

DAY 5 - Kratie – Kampong Cham

Journey four hours to Kampong Cham, a town that’s steeped in myth and legends. See the 12th century Wat Nokor and take a short trip to the twin hills of Phnom Pros and Phnom Srey – meaning man and woman hills, for striking views. See what your destiny holds and visit one of the many fortune tellers and watch out for the roaming monkeys!

DAY 6 - Kampong Cham – Siem Reap

Travel about five hours today, passing through Kampong Thom, a former Khmer Rouge stronghold to arrive in Siem Reap late afternoon.

Be awestruck by Angkor Wat, marvel at the smiling faces of Bayon and the tree entwined Ta Prohm that featured in the movie Tomb Raider. All the main highlight temples are covered so you won’t miss a thing!

DAY 9 - Siem Reap – Community Village Tour

Set off to a rural village about an hour away from Siem Reap. Visit, a local non-profit organization employing village women who specialize in the traditional craft of mat weaving. Then get a hands-on experience as you immerse yourself into the daily life. Travel like a local in an ox cart, receive a blessing at a local monastery and participate in fishing, farming or animal husbandry. Funds from your tour go directly to the community to improve the lives of the people. This is feel good tourism at its best.
