Ride through lush, green rice fields, past grazing water buffalo and smiling farmers and stop at the stunning 9th Century Prei Monti temple en route to a local homestead. See a slice of local life on this half-day cycle tour and pass through the lush, verdant greenery and stunning rice fields of this picturesque country. Witness a wholly different way of life as smiling young children rush alongside your bicycle and grazing water buffalo pay scant attention to your presence from their muddy pools. See the hardworking yet ever smiling rice farmers and watch for peaceful wildlife going about their daily life as you cycle along the red soil lanes to the vibrant Rolous market. This colourful flea market, where brilliantly colourful fruit and an endlessly cheerful atmosphere are in abundance, will allow chance for a water break and a wander.

After a quick pit stop, head to the little-visited Prei Monti temple. This striking antiquated structure was built in the 9th Century and comprises of three brick towers and a sandstone tank which was originally used for healing purposes. One of Angkor’s oldest temples, Prei Monti is located in amidst thick shrub and forestland and provides a truly peaceful visiting spot. After time to explore and take in the natural beauty of this tranquil place, continue cycling to visit a local host family.
