Dehli Arrival

DAY 1 - Dehli Arrival

Start this adventure through India in the country’s bustling capital. Upon arrival in Delhi, head to the hotel and take the day to relax and explore the streets of this vibrant metropolis, where ancient monuments meet modern skyscrapers.

DAY 2 - Dehli

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a guided tour of Old Delhi. On a cycle rickshaw, breeze through the narrow streets of Chandni Chowk market before visiting Jama Masjid mosque. Featuring three giant striped marble domes and two soaring minarets, it is the second largest mosque in the country. Continue riding past the impressive Red Fort, before reaching Raj Ghat memorial, the cremation place of Mahatma Gandhi.

In the afternoon, explore the sights of New Delhi. Travel from the Qutb Minar, the country’s tallest stone tower, to the India Gate war memorial, an imposing archway commemorating the soldiers who lost their lives during World War I. Continue to the Parliament Building and end the tour at the grand Rashtrapati Bahwa, the president’s residence.

DAY 3 - Delhi - Agra

After a laid-back breakfast, embark on a train journey to Agra, the city of love and home of the world-renowned Taj Mahal.

In the afternoon, visit the historical Agra Fort, an imposing sandstone fortress that served as the former seat and stronghold of the Mughal Empire, before standing in awe in front of the breath-taking Taj Mahal. As one of the new seven wonders of the world, this architectural jewel was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as an expression of love for his wife.

DAY 4 - Agra - Jaipur

Spend the day on the road to Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan state. Thanks to its distinctive painted buildings, it’s been dubbed the Pink City, a colour that is traditionally associated with hospitality. After checking into the hotel, enjoy the rest of the day wandering through the alleys of this picturesque city.

DAY 5 - Jaipur

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the hotel before heading to Amber Fort. Standing tall on a small hill just outside of Jaipur, head up to the sprawling complex on the back of an elephant. Explore the extensive grounds, encompassing a magnificent palace, several halls, courtyards and gardens, before returning by local jeep.

Back in Jaipur, stop at the facade of Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds and take some photos in front of the beautiful pink sandstone exterior wall. Resembling honeycomb of a beehive, the tiny intricate windows enabled royal women to observe street festivals without being seen by the public.

Spend the afternoon at the City Palace Museum, wandering about the massive complex of palaces, gardens and courtyards and perusing the unique collections of artworks, costumes and armour. One of the highlights are the rare and ancient Hindu scriptures.

Before returning to the hotel, finish this tour of Jaipur at the Royal Astronomical Observatory, Jantar Mantar. Comprised of several monuments, these structures were designed to observe astronomical positions with the naked eye.

DAY 6 - Jaipur - Kochi

After breakfast at the hotel, head to the airport and fly to Kochi (formerly known as Cochin) in Kerala. Spread out on several islands, the cosmopolitan coastal town has been attracting traders and travellers for over 600 years, resulting in a diverse mix of cultures, and was the gateway of colonisation in India.

Upon arrival, check into the hotel and spend the rest of the day strolling around this lively city.

DAY 7 - Kochi - Alappuzha

Start the day with a guided tour of Mattancherry neighbourhood. First, visit the Paradesi Synagogue, the oldest active Jewish synagogue in India, before wandering over to the Dutch Palace. A beautiful example of Kerala style architecture fused with colonial influences, its interior features a collection of colourful murals, depicting the great Indian epics Ramayana and Mahabharata.

In the afternoon, drive south to Alappuzha (formerly called Alleppey) and hop on board a traditional Ketuvallam. Originally used to transport rice and other products, these vessels were converted into houseboats, complete with bedrooms and bathroom. Experience the serene countryside of Kerala, whilst cruising the canals of the calm backwater and passing by lush rice paddies and local villages. On board, indulge in a delicious dinner before snuggling into bed amidst the peaceful surroundings.

DAY 8 - Alappuzha - Kovalam

After a laid-back breakfast on the water, it’s time to leave the boat and head further south to Kovalam. Check into the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 9 - Kovalam

Boasting breathtakingly beautiful beaches, interspersed with several temples and other interesting sights, including the striped lighthouse, this town on the Arabian Sea is the perfect place to spend a day relaxing on the beach and going for leisurely strolls.

DAY 10
