Spend half a day in the place where time stands still with this morning tour to the around UNESCO-protected Luang Prabang. This friendly, quaint town has seen an upsurge in tourists in recent years but still retains an air of beatific, ancient spirituality. After a fun-filled tuk tuk ride, visit Heuanchanh Heritage House, a century-old traditional Lao house located in the heart of Luang Prabang.

Discover the importance of bamboo to the region and try traditional bamboo weaving. Create a Lue-style dream catcher to take home – these beautiful pieces of art are thought to ward away nightmares and help sleepers to remember the best parts of their dreams. Next, endeavour to create handmade paper from the bark of the Mulberry tree – an age-old process that creates beautifully thick and rustic paper.

After a morning of creating, enjoy an authentic lunch at the glorious Terrace restaurant which serves mouth-watering food, Lao-style.

Visit the Heuanchanh Heritage House and learn about the history of this fascinating building before being transferred back to the hotel and with it, to modern life.
