This half-day heritage trail takes in the most significant points from Kuala Lumpur’s 150-year history. Start at the impeccable Independence Square and take in the imposing, copper domes of the Sultan Abdul Samad building before a guided stroll to the pristine Jamek Mosque, the vibrant Sze Ya temple and many other sites of intrigue. A local guide will explain the fascinating historic and cultural significance of these wonderful buildings in the heart of Malaysia’s most densely populated city.


After a morning of exploration, stop at a bustling café for a glass of the popular pulled tea called “Teh Tarik”, a tasty warm beverage that soothes and energises, and a snack of “prata roti” bread. Enjoy a spot of people watching before setting out for Central Market. Built in 1888 as a wet market, this bright and airy market is packed to the rafters with locally made culture, arts and handicrafts, perfect for finding gifts for the folks back home.


Next, enjoy an authentic lunch at Peranakan Café and enjoy local delicacies such as chicken Pong The, Assam fish fillet or Nyonya Chap Chai ‘fried vegetable’ as well as tea or dessert.
