DAY 1 - Ninh Binh

Experience the outstanding natural beauty and iconic history of Ninh Binh in this full-day tour. After collection from the Hanoi hotel, enjoy a scenic drive to an area of natural beauty, often referred to as ‘Ha Long Bay on land’. Once there, meander lazily down the tranquil Ngo Dong river - pass kayakers and daredevil swimmers en route to the ancient Tam Coc or ‘Three Caves’. Gaze in awe as foliage-topped limestone cliffs loom magnificently over the tranquil waters – don’t forget to take a camera to this stunning natural wonder.

Disembark the vessel and take a short trek to experience the quiet beauty of Thai Vi temple. Built in 1258 by King Tran Thai Tong to worship Buddha and the three saints, this stunning example of ancient architecture has an undeniable air of peace and tranquility. Constructed from monolithic greenstone and boasting unique features such as pagodas, stone carvings and more, Thai Vi is a place that will not be easily forgotten. After time to explore and unwind, walk through electric green rice paddies to a secluded local restaurant surrounded by limestone mountains and lakes to enjoy a selection of local delicacies.

Once sated, continue the exploration of these magical lands. Walk to the village of Van Lam Hamlet, known for its traditional lace embroidery practices. Meet with smiling locals and hear how they preserve this 700-year-old craft in modern times. Come away with a small embroidery gift and transfer back to Hanoi with wonderful memories of this special place.
